monday musings

It's Monday night again. Unfortunately, the weekend is long gone, the work week has begun and I'm already exhausted. See, I never really get a real weekend since I work Saturdays and Sundays. My first day off will be on Halloween. Ugh.

In other news, I got to see two of my best friends on Friday night, which made my world go round. A and M have been my friends since we were 12(ish). That means we've been friends for 10 years. Whoa. There's usually four of us, but my other best friend D is living in New Orleans now, saving the world one student at a time as a corps member for Teach for America. She is a pretty inspiring and amazing woman, and although I miss her terribly every day, I know that what she's doing is miraculous and wonderful. She's coming home in November for Thanksgiving, and I can't wait.

The three of us and our respective boyfriends went out to the Joshua Tree in Davis Square for drinks. And then we moseyed our way across the street to another bar, The Foundry, and drank some more. It was a whole lot of (notsowholesome) fun. I insisted that we take a more current picture (seeing as the last picture we took together was...two years ago). Here's the result:

Aren't we cute?

The boyfriend and I also took a picture before we left, since we looked so darn shnazzy that night.

Precious :) We're both decked out in some pretty awesome Gap apparel.

Saturday we spent time with the boyfriends family; I found out that they read my blog and, though I didn't say it at the time, it makes me feel all happy inside to know that people are actually reading this. Hi J and S! The boyfriend's sister gave me some awesome book recommendations, and I'm digging right into one of them. I'll let you know what I think when I'm finished. The boyfriend and I ventured off to see a late-night (10:10!) showing of "The Social Network." While it may not be completely accurate, it sure as heck was amazing to watch. I loved it. I think you would too. It's totally worth the $11 (!!) to see it (P.S. When did movies get so expensive?! Someone tell me!!!).

Sunday was spent working. Yada yada yada.

And then Monday came. While I was at work, I found out the best news ever! No, my sister is not pregnant (again). I am officially a Jess LC blog ambassador! I fell in love with this jewelry line a few weeks ago whilst perusing (yes, I peruse) other people's blogs. Everything about her line is just beautiful and intricate and unique. So I vowed that I would buy a few of her pieces once I got my first Big Girl paycheck as a reward for how hard I've been working. Well, I just got my first Big Girl paycheck, and then I found out that I'm a blog ambassador, and now I'm going to buy a necklace and bracelet for myself because I deserve it. There's nothing more inspiring than seeing someone do what they love and really succeed with it. I think you'll like Jess's stuff too, so you should check her out :)
