pet peeve

Ok. I had big plans to write about a bunch of really awesome things. Like about our Christmas tree or Hannukah menorah or how much I love the boyfriend. But here's what I'm going to write about: how difficult my neighbors are making parking in my driveway out to be.

Fact: We live in a triple decker, and we have a four car driveway at our apartment. When we moved in, we were told there was a lady living downstairs and a lady living upstairs. Plus us two that makes four cars. Huzzah!

Perfecto!

Right?

Wrong. We used to park in the street, but in Newton you're not allowed overnight street parking from November 15 to April 15. Ok, fine let's park in the driveway. But the boyfriend parks behind the lady upstairs' car one night, and he wakes up to a nice note on his car telling him he can't park on that side of the driveway. Huh? We call her, and she (notsonicely) tells us that that's her side of the driveway, that it was given to her by the landlord's wife and basically that she's not sharing.

And then we wake up to this fun scene the next morning:

WHOSE CAR IS THAT AND WHY IS IT PARKED IN A PERFECTLY GOOD SPOT WHERE MY LITTLE SHOEBOX OF A CAR COULD HAVE GONE?! Ugh. And that car hasn't moved in TWO days. WTF?!

So that leaves one of us parking in the municipal lot a few blocks down, but you can only park there until 7 a.m., which is lame. So now, because the lady upstairs is being stubborn and selfish, the boyfriend and I have to wake up every morning at 6:45 to drive the other down to the municipal lot to move one of our cars.

UGH. HOW OLD ARE WE?!

End rant. I promise I'll have something fun and uplifting to write about tomorrow.
