new york new york

I just love the weekend. Especially when I don't have to work and I can hang out and do whatever I please. It feels nice not to work sometimes. I wish it happened more often. Oh well.
So Friday the boyfriend and I went out to Johnny's Luncheonette courtesy of Groupon. So we bundled up for a datenight and ordered some delicious food.

Guacamole wrap. Om nom nom.

I have a pretty sick obsession with breakfast foods. So clearly I ordered breakfast. And I ate every last bite of this plate. Oh yeaaaaaaah.

We spent the rest of datenight at Target because...well...I love Target. There's just so much to look at and see. We got some snacks too because early Saturday morning we left for NYC. We woke up super early to take a bus from Boston, and got to the city in the early afternoon. I didn't take a whole lot of pictures (I was too busy having fun...slash sometimes I'm terribly about having my camera out). But here's what I do have...

We stayed with our friend Samara, who lives right by the Empire State Building. What. A. View.
She lives a few blocks away. But wow. WOW. I'm a fan.

We went to Williamsburg to visit the Brooklyn Brewery and had some awesome drinks. If you're in the area, I suggest hitting them up. For $2o we got 6 drink tokens. 1 drink token=1 drink. You do the math.

And across the street from there was Beacon's Closet, which I read about all the time on What I Wore. So, clearly, I needed to stop there. I was good though; I didn't buy a single thing.

After some relaxing and eating (sushi, deeeeelish), we ventured out for the night to meet up with other friends. We started off at a bar called Traffic, but eventually moved to this bar:

It's called Turtle Bay. When you went in they stamped you with a stamp that said "Turtle Power." People danced on the bar. A lot. It was a pretty sa-weet dance party. And we stayed out until almost 3 a.m. Yeah. I'm pretty proud of myself. Especially since we woke up at 6:45 that morning to GO to NYC.

So then it was time to go back to Samara's apartment. And we found this:
Seriously, doorman?

The door was locked. We couldn't get in to her building. And we waited outside for more than five minutes. It was pretty chilly. I was not a fan.

The next morning we woke up, went to breakfast (see, I love breakfast) and then began our journey back home. But I did snap pictures of the sweet skyline from our bus.
And one sad boyfriend who didn't want to leave the city.

All in all, it was a wonderful (albeit short) visit to the Big Apple. We came. We saw. I'm pretty sure we conquered. What a wonderful mini vacation.

And now it's Monday Night Football and the Patriots are playing the Jets (boooooooooooooooo), so we're watching. Duh. Go Pats!
How was your weekend?
