easter things. and brownies.

Easter was fantastic. But you know what was even more fantastic? Fudge brownies. With sea salt. Sea salt fudge brownies. Delicious. It's like everything that's fantastic in life rolled into one little chocolate-y package. And they're easy peasy to make.

Sea salt fudge brownies (from Eat Live Run)

1 1/2 stick butter
2 oz unsweetened chocolate
1/4 cup plus 2 T unsweetened cocoa powder
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 t vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
sea salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Foil a 9x9 metal cake pan, draping foil over edges of pan. Spray foil with cooking spray.

Melt butter and chocolate together on low heat, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and mix to combine. Add cocoa powder, sugar, eggs, vanilla and flour and combine. Pour batter into pan and smooth top. Grind sea salt over batter and swirl in with a butter knife. Grind a little extra on top, making sure to sprinkle evenly.

Bake for about 35 minutes, until edges are set but the center is still gooey. When you insert a toothpick into the middle it should come out coated with a little of the batter. Cool at room temperature for about an hour, then refrigerate until firm. Lift brownies from pan and remove foil. Makes 12-16 brownies.

And I got some pretty sweet stuff this weekend. Some in the mail, some from visiting friends. This includes a "Beign-Yay" shirt straight from New Orleans, a Cupcake t-shirt from Dressing on the Side, and tickets to see John Butler Trio this summer at the Bank of America Pavilion.
I also just realized I never told you which tapas restaurant I went to last week. It's called 94 Mass Ave. You should probably go there if you're in the area. No, really. Go there.

Happy Monday, folks!
