things i've been reading

We're back with another installment of things I've been reading/watching/listening to.

Reading.

I just finished David Sheff's book Beautiful Boy: A Father's Journey Through His Son's Addiction. I heard magnificent things about it when it first came out, but didn't look too heavily into it. When I saw it on supersale at Borders, I decided it was high time for me to pick it up. If you've ever known anyone who's suffered from addiction, I highly recommend this book. It's everything you've ever wanted to say, but written down. It's beautiful. It's heartbreaking. It shook me to my core. I cried within the first 20 pages.

And I'm sure half of you already read Emily's blog. Yes, Emily. We're on a first name basis, didn't you know? Ok, I kid. She has no idea who I am other than some random girl who obsessively comments on her blog and tries to emulate her in her best way possible.

But if you haven't checked out Cupcakes and Cashmere, you probably should. From the clothes to the recipes to just her musings on things, it's magnificent.

Plus, she's gorgeous to boot.

Watching.

Gossip Girl. Duh. There's no shame in my game, so I feel it's perfectly acceptable that Gossip Girl is one of my favorite television shows. Ever.

The story line keeps me guessing, even though sometimes it can be a bit predictable. Sometimes the petty drama is ok. Also, the fashion. Can we talk about that for a second?

Stunning. I die. If I could have a wardrobe that was a mixture of Blair and Serena's closets, I would be the happiest girl in the entire world.

Listening to.

Mumford & Sons. All day. Every day.

That's been my Gchat status for the past week. And it's true.

Ridiculously awesome stuff right there. It makes me think of summer. Driving around with the windows down.
