rendez-vous: new england

Yesterday was 9/11. The tenth anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Centers and the Pentagon and the crash of United Airlines Flight 93. I took it upon myself to personally reflect on the day and remember how much has changed and those who lost their lives that day. I decided I didn't want to do an entire post devoted to it; it's a personal thing for everyone.

Even with the somber memories hanging over, I had a remarkable Sunday at the SoWa Open Market with rendez-vous: new england. The ever-lovely {av} from {long distance loving} and Jillian from cornflake dreams did an excellent job of setting up the event (and, from what I heard, the whole weekend!).
We started the afternoon at Grey's Fabric & Notions, where we all introduced ourselves, browsed the gorgeous fabrics and noshed on some delicious snacks. Meringues are a personal weakness of mine.
Myself and a couple of other lovely bloggers headed over to Roxy's Grilled Cheese Truck to grab some lunch. If you ever get the chance to try the Green Muenster, I highly recommend it. Avocados? Bacon? Muenster cheese? Sign. Me. Up.
We also convinced them to take pictures with us. Meet Emily of so anthro, Zoe of style foodie and my lovely friend Bianca of A Lust for All Seasons and Current Instincts.

Why yes, Bianca is indeed holding a picnic basket. She bought it in a vintage shop for $8 and used it as her purse. Why yes, she is that fabulous.

The weather was perfect, the food was delicious and the company was spectacular. It was so fun to meet a group of lovely ladies who understand my love for blogging. Really, the blogging community is one of the nicest and most accepting groups ever.

Much love to our lovely hosts...
...who went above and beyond all of my wildest hopes and dreams for a blogger meet-up.

And I hope we can have another one really soon!

[P.S. I hit a huge milestone this weekend: I hit 100 followers on Google Friend Connect! Thank you all for following along in my journey as a twenty-something. You guys are da bomb! Here's to many, many more memories!]
