BIG life things

I can finally share with all my big news from last week. No, I'm not engaged and I am not with child.

I found a new job. I quit my current job. This is my last week with my company, and I'm starting my new job November 7.

I'm so excited I could cry. While I loved the people I work with right now, not everything about the job was for me. It just didn't work properly in my life. There was a lot of unnecessary stress, and I was just ready for a change.

So I found it. I found a new job with a smaller company and a better title. I'm still in the media field; I'll be working as an editor, which I'm very excited about. I get to start working with other kinds of content than just tips and news for the Web. There is more structure. I don't get to work from home, which kind of sucks, but I do get a lot of holidays. Holidays where I don't need to be logged on from home doing more work. It'll be a welcome change.

I feel like I'm closing the door on a big part of my life. This was my first job out of college. I was lucky enough to find a job in my field after graduation within four months of graduating. I was a part of the select few. It was awesome. I made a lot of really awesome friends, including (but not limited to) Bianca, who's made my life infinitely better.

I'm nervous to be the New Kid at work again. But I'm more excited about the new challenges I'll have each day. My new office is in downtown Boston, so I'll be able to romp around the city after work more often. I'll be closer to friends whom I can have lunch with during the week. It's a true blessing.

I know I'm really lucky, especially in this economy and in my field. Journalism is rough. But I work hard. And I know I'm never going to take this for granted.

So here we go, starting on a new chapter of my life. It's scary and unknown, but it's completely, 100 percent awesome.

And, you know, so this post isn't totally text, here's a photo that basically sums up Sunday.
Runs now require cold gear, full-length pants and headbands. Sigh. I guess we're just bowling straight into winter now.

Also, I'm guest posting over here today, so come check it out!

  7. Glad you clarified the marriage/pregnant thing. I hate when people start things off like "I've come to a point in my life, blah blah blah, I'M GETTING A CAT!" It's like, oh my god, you scared the shit out of me, don't do that. haha CONGRATS! So happy for you, baby. Also, enjoyed watching Iron Chef with you last night. :)
