the newseum

Probably my favorite place in DC is the Newseum. It's one of the only museums in DC that you have to pay for, but it's well worth the money. For a journalism nerd and a news junky like me, it's complete heaven.
it features a part of the berlin wall, and how news broke and was handled
newspaper headlines and the view from the top floor.
tim russert's office. touched my heart.
the 9/11 memorial
If you do go to DC and you love history and the news, or even just have a bit of nostalgia for events passed, then you should probably head over to this museum. It's well worth the money. Plus, the passes are good for two days, so you can go back to make sure you see everything :)

  1. I wish I would have known about this museum when I was there years ago! We went to the Holocaust Museum - which was full of history and well worth it - but not the Newseum..didn't even know it existed. Looks like fun though!

  3. I went to the Newseum for the first time this summer while at a journalism institute. It is such a great place, and some of the exhibits gave me goosebumps. It is so rich in information, culture and history.

  4. Sold! Looks like an awesome place. Wish I would have known about it sooner, but I'm sure I'll find my way back to DC one of these days. I'll definitely put it on the "to see" list. Thanks for the pictures. It looks like it'd totally be up my ally.

  6. I've never heard of this museum before but now I want to hop on a plane and visit. It looks AMAZING!

And as a side note, I've always described the feeling of seeing (or hearing) beautiful as having my heart ripped out. And I always get weird looks when I say that, so it is amazing to know that someone else has felt the same thing.
