I'm getting a bit bored with my hair lately. I've been in the process of growing it out for about a year now. I'm trying to get it back to its luscious length, right around where it was when I graduated from college. In the meantime, I'm just getting bored. Easiest solution to that? Small changes!

I won a giveaway from Alana over at The Good Girl Gone Blog for free highlights and a blowout from Jeffrey Lyle Salon on Newbury Street. I've never dyed my hair, so I don't really know what kind of color to get. Reds? Browns? Help.

I've also been contemplating getting bangs again. I've had side-swept bangs for years, but I go back and forth between growing them out and cutting them. I've recently been growing them out, but I've been thinking about bringing them back.

What about something like this?

Seriously ladies, help me out. Deciding these kinds of things stresses me out. The last thing I need is more stress in my life.

  3. Okay I got bangs over the summer and HATED them and they still haven't really grown out. So if that's something you want and know you like, do it. If you're not sure, FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE DON'T. My roommate recently got bangs and layers and it looks soooooooo bad. I don't want to have to lie to you like I do her.

  4. I already tweeted you about the highlights, but seriously, I'm stoked. I say go with reds. They'll blend well with dark hair and look beautiful in the sunlight. I also totally think you could rock some bangs - the picture is a good starting place. My best advice is to ask your stylist for their honest opinion. They want their work to look good and do this all the time.

  6. i agree with Christin- subtle is the way to go. I'd ask for just a touch of warmer, lighter brown around your face. And definitely go for bangs- they're flattering on everyone!

  8. these bangs are adorable! I say go for it! It's always to cut them longer than you want them... because you can always trim them shorter. Also, surprisingly the grow up pretty quick. Only downfall that no one ever tells you... They are very high maintenance. Can't wait to see what you deicide! xoxo
