running goals of 2012

I haven't talked a lot about my running goals for 2012. So what better time than a month into the year?

I want to run more races. I like training, and it gives me more motivation to get out there and run further. So I've signed up for four races so far. There's a half marathon in Hyannis over Memorial Day weekend with a bunch of lovely ladies. I'm excited about that, especially since we'll be able to relax on the beach after running wicked far.

I've also signed up for the Boston Athletic Association's Race Medley. I'll be running a 5K, a 10K and a half marathon over six months. And I get a sa-weet medal at the end of it on top of each race's individual medals.

All in all, it's shaping up to be an exciting year. Plus I've got some ill new kicks to get me through the first 300-400 miles of training...
And if all of this goes well, I'll hopefully be running the Boston Marathon in 2013. Nothing excites me and terrifies me more at the same time.

Do you have any fitness goals for 2012?

  1. Wow. Running the Boston is one of my life dreams. You go girl!

  2. can you recommend a running shoe for not running. well running around town. i wanna look fly.

  3. i like your kixx. you're a running machine. YOU GOT DISSS.

  4. Add to your list: "Travel to Oregon and run a half marathon with Nicole." Okay?

  5. Sweet! That just gave me lots of ideas for what I could potentially do. :) :) (aka: I just moved to Boston and I've been thinking about...thinking, haven't actually gotten to the signing up...about running in something a little bit more organized than "hey, I should go for a run.") Ya know? I DID hear about another really really awesome one that will be in the fall called the color run - I mean running...and paint...all together! how could it get more awesome, no? :)

  6. Oh how I wish I enjoyed running. It always seems like a hobby I'd love to pick up. I do, however, have quite a workout wardrobe. ;)

Oh, herro there.
