kale chips: a recipe

There's been a lot of buzz in the blogosphere about kale chips. After much thought and consideration, I decided I wanted to give them a shot. People claimed they tasted like potato chips. I like potato chips just as much as the next girl, and I sure as hell love eating healthy. So I bought myself a head of kale and went to work.
I followed this recipe to a T, and they turned out quite delicious. And while they had a similar crispy crunch to potato chips, they definitely had more of a green taste than their starchy cousin, if you know what I'm saying.

The trick is to fully dry your kale after you wash it, and use fresh cracked sea salt on top.

Oh, and another thing of note? These suckers don't do well being packaged up to eat at a later date. Mine got all soggy the next day, even packed in an air-tight container. So make these guys for immediate consumption!

  1. The last time I made these was last 4th of July.. I walked away to get ready and they ended up burning and my apartment smelled rancid for a very long time hahaha. Also transporting a huge bag of burnt kale leaves in a giant ziplock baggie to a cookout made me look like I was transporting a certain drug. I'm sure I'll try again though... I looove kale

  4. Yeah, I'm pretty sure kale is something I can't find in rural AL at the local grocery store. Balls. I really want to try these sometime.
