things to do in boston: zaftigs delicatessen

If you haven't noticed yet, I really like to eat. A lot. And I like to eat all kinds of food. I do not discriminate. Indian? Hellz yeah! Ethiopian? Bring it on! But there is most definitely a special place in my heart for Jewish delis. And thankfully, I've got one right down the street from me.
Zaftigs. Oh my. Zaftigs. First of all, the folks over at Zaftigs make a mean egg salad. Like. So good. And I absolutely straight up am obsessed with egg salad. Meals at Zaftigs start with bagel chips, which are so good it's easy to just fill up on those and call it a day. But don't do that.

The latkes are the perfect combo of crispy outsides and mashy insides. And the sour cream is oh-so delightful. According to Craig, the chopped liver is really good, but I don't eat chopped liver so you'll have to take his word on that one.

If you're in the area and you love a good deli sandwich, do yourself a favor and drop by. It's well worth the wait time to grab a table. Oh, and they're open every single day, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Because they're that awesome.

  1. I think I've only ever had the challah french toast from Zaftigs because it's just TOO GOOD that I can't pass it up whenever I'm there.

  2. Egg.Salad. FTW! And Craig...with the chopped liver? Really...

  3. I WENT THERE. omg and I never go to Brookline! Be proud! The bangel chips were the most bangin thing. I legit think I took 20 minutes or more to decide on my meal.

I just love it so much.

Also loved living in Brookline. Sigh. Totally loved everything about it.

Oh, herro there.
