marathon monday: 12 weeks

Today's a holiday, and I was almost about to not post.

But then I remembered I had this series and I really just want to remember everything about my training.

This weekend I ran 15 miles.

That's fucking ridiculous.
I never thought I'd get to this point in my running career. It's crazy to think that at one point in my life, running a mile was torturous. And on Saturday, I went and did that 15 times.

And when I finished, I was tired but I felt amazing. Unstoppable. It was such a wonderful feeling. Most of my run I was thinking about people like Dena, and how my run was nothing compared to what they go through. Sure, people are amazed that I am running like this. But I'm amazed that people fight through cancer and come out strong.

There are 12 more weeks until the marathon. And then it'll be over. But the fight to cure cancer won't be over. If you can donate even $5 to my run, I would be eternally grateful. See, here's the thing I think people forget: Every little bit makes a difference. Donations don't need to be huge. If all of my GFC readers donated $5, we would have $1,000 more toward finding a cure. Nuts.

Thanks again for coming along for this crazy journey. Seriously.

  1. I think what you are doing is incredible...I admire you so much, Alex! I'm happy to contribute to the cause! :)

And it also gives me hope that I'll one day be able to run like this. I just started Couch to 5k and running does not come easy to me, to say the least!

Oh, and I've had your donation page as a tab on safari for like weeks now. I'm broke this pay round, but it's top on my list when I get paid on the first. Keep on keeping on!

  6. Are the different colors on your track correlated to your speed? Cause that would be awesome.
