So with all of these running shenanigans lately, I've had very little time to myself. However, I still have a lengthy commute where I have nothing but time to readreadread. Lately I've been devouring books.
After Visiting Friends blew me away with its honesty and the eventual discovery Michael Hainey makes about his father and his death. It's a total mystery, and Hainey has a great voice for storytelling. I highly recommend it to people who like a bit of mystery and sleuthing. Or people who like honesty and uncovering the truth. It truly is a great story.
And then there's
The Paris Wife. I was clearly behind the times reading this book. It was a huge hit on like everyone's blogs a while ago and I put off reading it for no good reason. But everyone was right. It's amazing. If you like historical fiction, this one's for you.
What have you been reading?
LOVED The Paris Wife.
ReplyDeleteAnd if you're up for a similar read try The Chaperone by Laura Moriarty. I read it a few months ago for a book club and really enjoyed it!
I haven't been reading anything, is that bad? I mean, I would be but I'm lazy.
ReplyDeleteJust read Kasher in the Rye which is written by this comedian who's on Chelsea Lately sometimes. I expected it to be like her books or at least the ones her writers have come out with recently that are just silly but it was AMAZING. He took on some serious parts of his life story but with a comedian's voice!

Both of these sound good! I am currently reading a book about a women who works for the British Secret Service in the late 60s. It is by the same author as Atonement. I also read Gone Girl which I did NOT like.

Atonement was hard for me to follow along, but I really liked it. And Gone Girl definitely isn't for everyone haha!
