a recipe post: apple streusel muffins

Oh hi, did you guys here? It's fall. And it's taken me nearly half of the season to go to the apple orchard. BUT I DID IT.
However, I totally made this recipe before I visited the orchard because I just couldn't wait to bake some apple muffins. But  now I'm excited to make these again with my fabulous orchard apples.
Apple Streusel Muffins (makes 12)

2 cups flour
2 t cinnamon
1 t baking powder
1/2 t baking soda
1/2 t salt
1 t allspice
2 large eggs, room temp
1 cup brown sugar (remember, make your own!)
8 oz creme fraiche
1 t vanilla extract
1/2 cup melted butter
2 medium-sized apples, peeled, cored and diced

3/4 cup flour
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 t salt
1/4 cup melted butter

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees, and liberally grease a muffin tray. Whisk together the flour, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, salt and allspice together in a bowl. In another bowl, mix up the eggs, brown sugar, creme fraiche and vanilla. Slowly pour in the butter and whisk it all up. Gently fold the liquid mixture into the dry ingredients until it's just combined. Stir in the chopped apples, and then fill your muffin wells to the top.

In another bowl, mix up your streusel by combining all of your ingredients until you have little pebbles of awesome. Spoon them onto the top of your muffins and bake them for 18-22 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown. Let the muffins cool for about 15 minutes in the pan, and then on a wire rack for a little while longer.
