arctic chill

So unless you've been lucky enough to not leave your house in the last few days, or you just don't live in the northeast, you haven't heard. But it's effing FREEZING here. I'm talking my face feels like it's going to fall off if I'm outside for longer than 10 minutes. It's BAD. So it's been hard to try and look cute with my outfits, especially because 99% of the time you can't really see my outfit. I'm covered by a sweater and a coat and two pairs of gloves and ear muffs and a hat. What can I say, I hate being cold.

You'll need a scarf, and one that's thick so the wind won't push through it. Fleece-lined tech touch gloves are essential, so you don't need to take off your gloves to send a text or skip to the next song on your phone. A hat is important because you first lose body heat through your head, so keeping it warm is far more important than the best hair day. I'm known for wearing a pair of fleece-lined leggings underneath my pants. It further insulates you, and because leggings are thin and form-fitting, you never see added bulk. Oh, and no matter how hard you try, winter is a BITCH on your lips. Fresh's Sugar Advanced Therapy is crucial for the winter months.

What do you swear by for winter?

Also, I know this might be a long shot, but a 16-year-old boy from Brookline has been missing since Monday afternoon. His name is Caleb Jacoby, son of Jeff Jacoby (a Boston Globe columnist), and if you've seen him or know anything please contact Brookline police.

  2. I don't watch the news so I missed the missing boy report - that breaks my heart. and it's so COLD! I'm tempted to pick up a case of new, clean socks and leave them in my car so I can pass them out to people who need them. and keep my eyes open for this kid.

    stay warm!
