things to do just outside of boston: the keurig store

There are few things I love more in this world than coffee. I mean, obviously Craig and Toby are up there, but let's be honest. Coffee keeps me going. It makes me a human in the morning. It tastes good. And there are so. many. kinds. of. coffee. Lucky for me, the first ever Keurig Retail Store recently opened just north of Boston. Obviously, it was a must-see for me.
I got a lovely tour from some of the folks at Keurig, which was helpful considering how overwhelming the store is. There are walls of K-Cups, which allows you to build your own pack of coffee (adorably called "Pick-A-Pack"). There are flavors and brews and teas and even iced options. See what I mean by overwhelming?
On top of the amazing coffee, the Keurig Retail Store also has a wide selection of Keurig brewers. From smaller ones (perfect for dorms!) to ones with larger water wells (for the family that drinks coffee together), there's a Keurig machine for everyone.
Once we got a lay of the land, I was tutored on coffee by some of the ladies from Green Mountain Coffee. Before I walked into the store, all I knew about coffee was that I really liked drinking it. I didn't understand the difference between flavors or had any clue where the beans actually came from. That changed real quick.
Did you know the flavor of your coffee differs depending on when the bean was picked? Crazy, right? So depending on when it was picked, you could have more floral notes or more woodsy notes. It's really interesting. Also, another fun fact! Light roast coffee has slightly more caffeine than dark roast. Green Mountain has more than 100 flavors of coffee available, including including certified organicFair Trade Certified, estate, signature blends and flavored coffees. PHEW.

So if you're in the area, I highly recommend checking out the Keurig Retail Store and picking up some coffee or tea or WHATEVER of your own. You won't regret it.
