valentine's date in a box

Valentine's Day is this Friday. Can you believe it? Are you ready for it?

If not, that's totally ok. There's still time to pull something together to have a fun night. Cardstore recently put together a list of dates in boxes, and they asked me to put my own spin on it. Since Craig and I are big fans of cooking dinners at home, here's my idea:
This parmesan risotto with roasted shrimp recipe looks divine and is perfect for these cold nights we've been having. The sauce pan is perfect for cooking up the risotto, and the gold flatware and red napkins add some festive flair to the meal. For dessert? I recommend pie. People often reserve pie for Thanksgiving and Christmas, but I think we need to start embracing it more often. Cherry pie for all! A pretty pie dish makes it easy to go from oven to table while still looking beautiful. You'll obviously also need a pastry brush to get an egg wash on the crust to get a good brown going. Essential.

Of course, Craig and I will also be exchanging cards, and Cardstore is a perfect place to put one together. The cards can be personalized, and they'll even stamp and mail your card for you! This card is my favorite, especially because you can include so many different photos. But hurry! Today is the last day to get your order in and have it delivered for Valentine's Day!

What are your plans for Valentine's Day?

Disclosure: Cardstore provided me a complimentary card in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own.*
