a recipe post: strawberry rhubarb crumble

hey hey! it's almost the fourth of july! that means cookouts and lazy days and summer-y meals. if you're looking to wow your friends, think about bringing this crumble. it will not disappoint.
strawberry rhubarb crumble
1 cup white sugar
3 T all-purpose flour
2.5 cups strawberries, hulled and sliced
2.5 cups rhubarb, sliced into 1 inch pieces
juice and zest of 1 orange
1 cup all-purpose flour
2/3 cup turbinado sugar
3/4 cup butter, room temperature
3/4 cup rolled oats

preheat your oven to 375 degrees. in a large bowl, mix together your white sugar, 3 T of flour, strawberries, rhubarb, orange juice and orange zest. place the mixture into an 8x8 baking dish. mix the remainder of your ingredients into another bowl until crumbly. you can use a wooden spoon or a hard spatula, but i used my hands. lay that out evenly on top of your fruit mixture, and then bake for 45 minutes or until the top is golden brown. enjoy warm or cold!
